Fishing Update May 2012: Salmon River, Pulaski, NY

Fly Fishing Portraits, LLCApproximately 40 miles north of Syracuse NY the Salmon river flows westward into Lake Ontario. The river is most known for its amazing seasonal runs of Chinook, Coho and Atlantic Salmon. It also has terrific migratory Steelhead and Brown Trout that can exceed 15 pounds with an occasional fish over 20 Lbs. Over four days in early April, I hooked 40 and successfully landed 30 Steelhead that ranged from 10 to 16 Lbs. I highly recommend that if you want to have a memorable experience, contact Carl Coleman or Jay Peck with Coleman’s Fly Shop at 585-352-4775 or visit their website.

Fly Fishing Portraits, LLCCarl and Jay are true professionals that know the river and respect the fishery better than anyone in the region. I have had the privilege of fishing with them 14 days over the past 12 months and they have created the kind of memories that will last a lifetime. We hope you enjoy the new portraits in the gallery and make sure to contact Carl or Jay to experience the finest Steelhead fishing in the Northeast.
